Wait, Ford just got a $5.9 BILLION Gov't loan!!! Although the term BAILOUT wasn't used, a loan is still a loan, meaning terms and a payback schedule.

I only wish Toyota would have went ahead with their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.

$5.9B wow first I've heard of that. Ford should use that money to fix its 6.0 and 6.4 problems.

That Hino diesel was way underpowered for it size. Maybe Toyota felt like it wouldn't be able to compete with the Cummins and Chevy diesels.

(BTW my sister lives in Raleigh.)

Felt the same way until tonight. Driving home after a smoke and drink with the bro-in-law and something on the top of the motor sprung an oil leak like old faithful. Pressure dropped and I shut it down, I hope in time. Top end is a pool of oil and the trans and under carriage is covered from run off. I hope that it isn't major and that no damage happened. Want to sell yours?

High Pressure Oil Pump

Mine started to leak around 60K and it was a simple easy fix. It makes a big mess but it is not a real big deal. I think the repair was under $200.00 if I remember correctly.

Powerstroke turbos are good for only about 200,000 miles, so if he's right around that mileage it's most likely the turbo.

To be fair, Cummins motors sometimes have problems early. Exhaust leaks, turbo problems, lift pumps etc. Rare but it does happen. Mine has had ZERO problems in 62000 miles.

I don't want to high jack the thread but thanks for the pointers of what to look for. It was the high pressure pump but just a block off bolt came loose. New o-ring and a little muscle and back on the road. Thanks again
