Yeah but see what CR says about your truck......I predict a red circle.....I never put much faith in that magazine.

I believe it was based on warranty issues etc. reported from manufacturer, not opinion.

What about the parts that GM designed??:party-smiley-004:

200k w/o a problem is awesome, more like a Cummins than a Duramax. V8 diesels can't haul heavy loads(12-18k) very long before breaking though. Their peak torque comes on too high in the powerband and their internal parts aren't beefy enough.

If you tow a big offshore boat(35' and up), you should have an inline six cylinder diesel.

I dont tow anything that big anymore, but just cant bring myself to go back to a gas truck. I am looking to replace it, and would consider a dodge. I had a 94 1/2 ton dodge that was the worst truck ever. 2 tranny's in it by 40k mi and I never towed a thing! I assume they are better now?

Zero tbl with my 08 F350 6.4. I'll drag your Duramax backwards down the freeway. :cool-smiley-011:

I was just reading today some real interesting stuff about CR and it's ownership.

Basically, CR's parent (Consumers Union) is owned by some environmental lefty (member of "friends of earth" or some junk). This clown also spoke out publicly against helping the Big 3 to congress. Best yet, I think that the "impartial testing" is done by a company owned/founded by Ralph effin Nader! So...this "unbiased" magazine is owned by a lefty tree hugger (hates domestics) and tested by Nader's company (could anyone be more vocally anti- GM?). I don't have any reason to doubt where I read this, and it explains a lot.

Even if that isn't the case, they only sample CR subscribers, who have been told for years imports were better so that wouldn't impart bias for the ones "dumb enough" to buy domestic would it......

That doesn't look anything like my door. I don't lock it anyway.
