My cat is 9'6 wide and 35' long, length of trailer is 38. Pulling with a crew cab dually. I'll be towing it through Arizona and Utah. I think I need permits, signs, flags etc.
Someone at the DS poker run told me I need a commercial license!! Could this be true? Thanks mucho |

Try calling 615-491-9520 (cell). Alfreda Porter is the owner of this 'flag service', and goes nation wide. She would prob. know the regs.

id call the DOT offices in those states and see what they require...each state is differant with their regulations as far as wide loads.
I dont THINK you would need a CDL..your not for hire. Although the regulation states any combination of vehicles with a GCWR of 26,001 lbs or more is required to have a CDL. You might be around that with a dually and a tri axle trailer depending on what the truck and trailer is rated for from the factory. Although, you can probably count on one hand the number of people running around with the same setup as you that actually have CDLs. |
we tow our 38 ft Top Gun, from Nj to Fla every year, we have never been stopped but, my brother and i both Have CDL class A anyway,
