8 Lug Rims??

I just picked up a 2010 2500HD 4x4, seems to tow pretty well, but, it came with the stock 16" rims/rubber, which in my opinion look ridiculous in those GIANT wheelwells, anyone have suggestions for a good replacement?

I tow a 33 ft 5th wheel trailer, so, I use "E rated" rubber, and would need rims/rubber that are compatable, I need to find SOMETHING though, the truck reminds me of "Bigfoot" when they put the "little" tires on it to move it around the shop! LOL

Thanks!
Michael

I just did something similar, I have an 07 that had the steel wheels and black wall tires.

I bought the 17 factory wheels on ebay and put 265-70/17 BFG's All-terrains and it makes the truck look a ton better.

I just went thru this a month ago. As soon as you start going up in rim size, especially 18"+, E load rated tires become scarce.

I wanted to do a 20" wheel on my 8-lug 2500 Suburban, but I wanted to keep the overall tire height as close to stock as possible. That equates to a 285/55-20. Tire choices were very slim. If I remember correctly, there were 2 Nitto options, a Hankook and a Michelin. I went with the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10. Very happy so far. They are dead quiet and ride real nice. They look good too.

I have a set of american racing chrome nooz that was on my truck when I bought it 18". I have hated them and the way the truck looks f250 super duty. I just took them off in favor of the factory polished alum wheels from an excursion 16" and bfg's. it was cheaper to do that than buy 18 tires. running the 18 then you have to worry about gettting a flat and not having the right size spare and tearing your limited slip up by having to different tire sizes.

Make sure you go to an 8 or 9 or maybe even 10 inch wide wheel. You will notice a dramatic increase in towing stability.

If your looking for stock 17" I just took mine off my truck and have brand new Nitto 285 55 17 e less then 200 miles on them.I would sell them. Or if you want to go up to 20" like i did Tire rack had a great deal on rims so now I got 285 55 20
e rated.They are off a Chevy Silverado 2500hd 2008
