Towing with 09 Suburban

We just picked up a 2009 1500 Suburban with a 5.3 and 3.42 gears as my wife's daily driver. Would this pull a 36 Outlaw? We have no plans on doing so, just curious if it could?

I would not pull that boat with that truck.

that boat would twist that truck in half. i pull with a dually and wouldn,t ever go back to a single tire truck...

Move it around your driveway, yes.....tow on the open road with other cars and the need to brake effectively, no.

if it goes 50mph you'll be damn lucky..

I towed a 38 Formula (similar size) with a 3/4 suburban with 3.73 gears and the 6.0 motor. After a couple 30 mile tows I went out and bought a dually ASAP. It was a white knuckle ride with the 3/4 ton, that 1/2 ton is going to be a disaster waiting to happen if you try to leave the neighborhood with it.

Have you bought the boat yet? I would strongly suggest you get a used Dodge 5.9 or Ford 6.4 dually.

I have a 2006 Dodge dually SLT with just over 70,000 miles on it. Bone stock 5.9L, six speed manual, 3.73 axle. Nothing but full synthetic oil. Only used the gooseneck one time. Never towed over 7000lbs on the receiver. It will tow that Baja no problem.

PM me if you want to discuss it further.

Yes, the boat was purchased earlier this year. We have absoulutely no plans on towing the boat. In fact, the trailer is for sale right now. The boat stays on a lift at LOTO year round. I was just curious if the Suburban could tow the boat.

Absolutely Not. Read your owners manual.
