German cars made in Puebla, Mexico.......
The local GMC/Chevy lot is also a VW lot. I was looking at new GMC's and noticed a Golf Diesel nearby. I was shocked to see it was actually made in Germany. The Jetta/Passat cars are from Puebla and the GTI was Slovenia. The Audi A3 TDI is running the same setup as the Jetta for 10K more! I'm going back to the VW dealer tomorrow(drove the Jetta today, lots of fun) and drive the Golf TDI which should be even more fun (same motor less weight). The salesman was riding with me when the street curved down and to the left. I said "hang on!" and floored it. Right in the middle of the curve was a hump. The jetta never bobbled, went over it with hardly a thump from the suspension and the car didn't get out of line even a little bit. I was very impressed. Yes I saw the article about the A3 in Diesel Power mag. I don't see how Audi can justify that price difference. |

Why pay for German engineering when it is being built by a nation not known for their "engineering/construction?" All of the BMW/MB SUVs are made in S. Carolina/Alabama but 90% of the owners don't know that! |
