Never had a lowered truck, but I imagine you'll have trouble w/anything other than a 10' aluminum boat.

12" lowered when it only had 8" ground clearance to begin with???

They must have dug a trench to get it that low !!!

The only way to do it would be with a full airbag suspension, and then you have virtually no towing capacity. It's a loosing proposition all around.
You remove suspension travel when you lower a vehicle. Usually, the lowest portion of the vehicle determining ground clearance when stock is the front A-arms/suspension or the differential pumpkins. |
Get a normal truck!:angry-smiley-038:

Offshoredrillin tows his Tiger with a lowered dually, I don't think his is as radical as that though.

12" drop is excessive for a tow rig by far! A full bagged set up will handle the weight if equiped with the right bags. There are a few around here that have air bar suspensions that handle 20,000lbs and the ride height can be adjusted to make the truck level.
I have a lowered 2010 GMC 1500 with helper bags and it tows great im not pulling 15,000lbs but i can fill the bags to level me back out. Depending on how they lowered the truck will dictate how much suspension travel you have. Either way 12" of drop seems like they both body dropped a few inches as well as suspension dropped it. It would be a very comfortable rig to tow with and it would wear you out on the trip to the lake. |
