Cadillac STS-V Input Wanted
Ok, I am looking at selling my 2000 BMW 540i 6 speed sport with the M package. I love the car but want something a little bigger, more traffic friendly (auto) but still fun to drive.
Originally I was thinking about an 03-04 S55 or similar but I know what it cost for brakes, clutch and flywheel on my Bimmer. So I am leaning toward a an 06 Cadillac STS-V. Great performance and comfort on a GM repair budget. Anyone on here have one. Pros/cons. Once I sell the BMW I will have a 25k budget. |
I would love to have the CTS-V sedan. That 556hp motor sounds awesome!! However, for what I paid for my 2006 Hemi 300, it has met all my expectations. Plus I saved $50,000. :coolcowboy: :drink:

I do alot of reading on the AMG forums. Those are bad ass cars but from what everyone there has said if fit and quality are important to you you will proibably be disappointed coming out of a beamer. The consensus seems to be they become rattle traps fairly quickly.
Do your research on the Benz's. I'm pretty sure the V-8 AMG brake jobs are not to bad...the V-12's are. I don't believe normal maintainance is that terrible on my E-55. If things break they are....so buy a warranty! My warranty(did get a good deal) was $2800 to extend 4 years or(dang either 48K or 60K miles!) This warranty covers everything but normal wear and tear. Repaced the stereo head unit after 2 months($900 for rebuilt). |
Cadillac budget??????????? LOL :)
I make plenty o money fixing Cadillacs. I like people who have cadillac budgets :) PS, the cts v rides like a skate board, eats tires and appears to love leaking oil. At least thats what I have seen so far. I have no doubt that like all caddies, the ac will fail early, the electronic suspension components will f up, power accessories will fail prematurely and on and on. Caddies are never cheap to keep in the long run. Thankfully :) |
How about the STS-V?
The thing is for the same price I can get an 06 Caddy with an extended warranty and not have to worry about paying for things vs. a 03-04 Benz with no warranty. I def don't want a Chrysler product and don't like the 5 series from the 03-10 generation. |
...whoops...mis-read...:D

Tom the M5 is badazz and you can pick up a nice one reasonably. You don't like the body? I loved mine. Bought it new in 05 and kept it 2 years

The STS-V doesn't have the monster 556 HP motor that the CTS-V does. I like both but the STS is a better looking car than the CTS. If I ever bought a CTS-V the vanity plate would have to be UGLY FAST....because the car is ugly but fast! |
