The 2nd through 4th repair were the same concern. that was a tech goof up.

the egr cooler and oil cooler kit is normal. now if we replace a cooler under warranty we have to replace the other. the stc fitting is a problem and now has been replaced with the solid tube.

Fixxer thanks,

I noticed it seemed he took it back for the same issues several times. Seems after that no work has been done, is there a way to tell what the miles were?

You know when it comes to the 6.0 I know you say you have a lot that run fine, but because there are a lot of people that don't I do believe resale would be less.
Is it the tech, maybe but then again if a lot of techs are bad the perception still is the same.

I see a few people saying I have 100K to 105K and it is fine, not to be rude but 100K isn’t squat. My brother in laws ran great until somewhere just over 100K maybe 115K, then injectors and EGR valves,,,,,,,,,,,, was it the techs that repaired them maybe, but when you break down on the side of the rode you don’t really get to pick where it gets repaired. After $10K in the next year and 60K miles he gave up on it.

That said it looks like this one has not needed anything for a few years, I think they were asking 25K. Sure they would take less, no one is looking at it and as diesel prices rise less will. I haven’t got a good look at it yet because of all the freckin ice but it looks pretty clean except it needs a new tailgate, which for me isn’t a big deal. Gives me a reason to do a mural on it.

I think Beast of Burden would be a good theme, I know showing my age.

Currently I have a 96 STOCK 7.3 F250 that just turned over 100K. Other then a cam position sensor this thing is very reliable, pulls fine but I could use a bit more power. That is easy to do, down pipe and a intercooler would maybe be enough, not like I am racing anyone when I tow. What I don’t like is the stopping power. Maybe it’s me but I would like more. Brakes have been completely replaced, new rotors, heavy duty pads, and drums but I think I am right at the GVWR of the vehicle and I am a firm believer of more truck then you need is better then just enough.

I have time to look around, I need to do some work on the boat this year and may miss the season so really only need to pull it home then back to storage, if it warms up a little maybe I’ll look at this one closer.

Again, thanks Fixxer for the report, that was what I was hoping for.

the miles are the end of the second line of each repair. like first repair at 23546.

the egr valve problems are due to fuel quality. the injectors are maintinence or low fuel pressure not being detected. they really arent bad trucks. just have to find the problem cause.

Just kicking it around right now, thanks for the responses.
I could be wrong, and FIXXER can straighten me out if so, but I feel like you hear about TONS of problems that dealerships mis-diagnose as "Oh - you have injectors going bad".

Maybe I am wrong, but is just seems like that is the easy diagnosis so that is what people go to.

So if I read this right the last work was at 91642 miles. Strange, that was in 06 yet the truck only got another 20K miles in the next 4 to 5 years? I need to get over and talk with the dealer.
