Not to confuse, technically they call it a 6 x 4.

6 wheel positions, 2 in front and 4 in rear. Dual or single wheels still count as 1 wheel position.


The 4 means 4 of those 6 are drive wheels.

A 6x6 would be a front drive steer axle and 2 rear drives, common for cement mixers, Electric Utility trucks, etc.


Here is a 10 x 10. Tridem Drives and Dual Drive Steers.
