expedition vs yukon vs lexus vs mercedes

We are looking into new vehicles for the wife and I want something I can tow my 31 sutphen with in a pinch.

What would you guys go after.

I had a 4.6 expedition years ago that towed really well, had air suspension etc.

Obviously Id go 5.4 now

other option is a 6.2 yukon

just read an article saying a toyota seqoia will out tow a 6.2 yukon?

JUst looking for opinions here

Excursion is out she wont drive anything that big, 3/4 ton suburban is out too!

I am biased (I work for GM), but there's a reason so many people who need to tow w/ an SUV (or just want a full size SUV) buy Tahoe/Yukon's.......they are the best in class. Get the Yukon and don't look back.

+1 but I would go for a 3/4 ton!

what is the weight of your boat and trailer I don't think you can legally tow it with anything less than a 3/4 ton

A 31 Sutphen weights more than this but FWIW the Lexus GX 470 and LX 470's are conservatively rated to tow 6,500 pounds with the frame mounted hitch ( not the standard one built into the bumper ). Both have load levelizing suspensions.

Ford 5.4 Trition motor having huge issue with spark plugs breaking off.

Yukon, wife has an 09 Yukon Denali XL and loves it

Mercedes, you could not give me one.

Toyota, s/a/a Having a lot of issues right now.

Lexus, having valve seal problems, not sure what engine but its a large recall

I am a tool dealer and I am in these shops every week, this is what I am seeing.

Not sure I would tow A 31 with any of them.

Not sure that has any bearing in what he's asking because you will continue to see recalls come out from EVERY manufacturer, and now much more often. Case in point : Ford just came out with one on its new and re-designed 2011 Ford Explorer ( 2nd row seat recliners fail to conform to federal standards ). You say your GMC has been great but they certainly have not been exempt.

My point : does it make all these vehicles bad vehicles ? No.
