The basic frame setup on a V-hull trailer is the same build as a cat trailer, is that correct?

I have a triple axle 32 V trailer that I want to convert to a 24' cat trailer with storage in the front.

By removing the bunks and and building a cradle, will this setup work?

I'd like to move the boat further forward on the trailer so that the drives are protected without having to extend the length of the trailer..

Any issues with this type of setup?

I think you could make something work nicely. Just remember that cats sit on top of the fenders and ride much higher on the trailer.

Another consideration, cats are much better supported with the inner chine on the bunk as apposed to just supported in the tunnel. This is more true with the weight of inboards.
This usually makes them a pain in the a$$ to load but it's better for the boat.
