Triple Axle Brake Question

Its now time to get the axles under the Formula 357. I have three new Dexter 6K pound axles replacing the three 3500 pound axles on my aluminum I-beam trailer. I will be adding EOH system but am considering just putting Kodiaks on the first two axles and then idlers on the third. Has anyone noticed a difference between two axles with brakes and three axles with brakes? The only steep towing will be at the ramp, everything around here is pretty gradual graded. Towing with 2003 Duramax dually.

Thanks

brakes on 2 6k axles will give you 12k of stopping power boat and trailer is not that heavy

I got brakes on all 3 axles with a 12K load and its the best braking trailer I`ve ever owned.. I say the more the better

You can never have too much brake. Go for brakes on all 3 axles !!!

Forgot to mention that the full boat and trailer loaded weigh right at 12 thousand pounds.

Some ststes require brakes on all axles with over 10,000lbs gvw.
Although brakes on 2 axles will work, you may have an issue with insurance or dot if you ever have a mishap. Spend the extra $$ and go all the way.

I have a much lighter boat (5k) and when first got my trailer only had brakes on front axle. I upgraded and added a second set and stops slightly smoother and way shorter in panic situations. Not long after I did it someone pulled out in front of me in the rain and all 4 trailer wheels locked up and anti brakes kept truck straight . I figured the $$ I just spent on all stainless Kodiak was less then ins deductible I just saved. :-) I love brakes.....cant ever have too much.
