Poor mileage on 06 ford 250 with 6.0 litre deisel
I recently bought a 6.0 ford and heard 19-20mpg is attainable with a tuner. I put a sct tuner on it and exhaust and am only getting 17mph on highway non towing at 70mph. Is there other things I can do to help with mileage increase. it has 20" tires

does'nt anyone here have a 6.0 ford

if you have taller tires i would say your getting better than 17 mpg..do a fuel consumption test with the miles you rack up with a gps vs you odometer..the taller tires will calculate less miles on your speedo.. |
Kelly: I think 17 mpg is dam good for a 7000 lb truck. I doubt your gonna get any payback on trying to squeeze 2 mpg outt of it.

Too many factors, your highway could be bad, windy, hilly, alignment etc? I can tell you an f-250 6.0 with SCT can easily get 20-21mpg at 70-75 here in FL hand calculated.

in my 06 with innovative's tow tune I get 19.5 or so empty running 70-75. I get a little over 20 at the same speeds with the 100hp street tune. If I slow down it gets better. I have never ran the economy tune to test it, it usually stays on the tow tune. That is stock height with just turbo back exhaust and an egr delete.

As a benchmark,my '06 bone stock gets 19 @ 70 mph.
My guess is if you put stock tires on it you will be @ 19 mpg. |
