If you tow your boat-BILSTEINS, I have put them on all 4 of my Duramaxes, I tried the edelbrock ias or whatever they call them, they rode better empty and towed terrible, Smitty

KYB Momotubes are pretty good as well.

Dodge 2500 CTD...Bilstein (silver shock w/black boot)

Either Bilsteins or KYB monomax. Stay away from the Monroe Relex, not hd enough for towing.

I run Monroe Reflex on my 05 2500HD Crew. Under severe use they typically last about 1.5 to 2 yrs. They drive and tow well, but could use a bit more damp and less rebound. Ive towed at and over capacity several times, and it rides extremely smooth. If you feel like spending the $$$ buy the Bilsteins, if not the Reflex will work fine.

Typically im just towing a 5000-7500 lb load on a tandem, but it tows my heavy 33 ft 5th wheel pretty smooth.

Tires are 285 75/16 on stock wheels.

Billsteins! Great ride, better than stock even on a brand new lifted 08 I had.

KYB Monomax--best bang for the buck. I run them on an F-350 and they ride great.

Go with the Bilsteins, I put them on all my trucks (which are worked very hard), they are very reasonable from eshocks.com

I have the Yellow w/Blue boots...only thing I regret about my decision is waiting 25k miles to put them on. Ride, handling and towing all improved considerably.

yellow OE replacement style Bilsteins are AMAZING. I haul heavy and they are the ONLY that wont blow out in a week. All other brands have blown and wrnty in under 500 miles!

Bilsteins!

GO4BROKE 06-22-2011 07:43 PM

Bilsteins.

pullmytrigger 06-22-2011 11:25 PM

Then yellow Bilsteins it is!
had to order them....they'll be here tomorrow
only about ten bucks more per shock than everything else

thanks everyone for all the input

Have lived with the yellow Bilstiens for a bit now.....a little stiff IMO unloaded, the wheels will chatter over little stutter bumps or little pot holes in succesion and the truck can get little sideways, maybe they'll loosen up a bit over time.....but they are AWESOME towing the boat, a real planted feel.....the truck is not a daily driver basically it just tows my boat and race car so Im happy, thanks for the input.....D
