Trailer Boxes
 

I am planning to add a couple of boxes to the trailer for some storage. Just curious what you have done with your trailer. I like the look of underbody boxes, but think that a standard truck tool box that is designed to be flush with the rails of the truck bed would be easier for storage. I want to have a place for tiedowns and the boat cover along with tools and spare hubs and props. Pictures of your trailer storage would be nice....

Problem with boxes on the trailer, depending on where you launch, ramp angle, tide and other variables, good chance the boxes are going to get wet along with what may be in them.

Thats why I am leaning towards top opening boxes instead of body boxes. Just in case I have to go a bit deeper on a launch the boxes will be sealed unless the top is submerged, if that happens I am in trouble anyways...

Redneck trailer has their own line of aluminum boxes that can be mounted any way and they won't leak

Top open only, and mount them as high and as far forward as possible.

Leak proof from rain, washing boat, and road spray is one thing.
Partially or totally submerged is totally different. I am going to look into the Redneck boxes though.

Agree Top lid as high as possible. I had these side mount boxes custom made. They look great and cost me plenty but everytime I got back, I had to clean them out and dry all my stuff out. Total pain in the butt I guess I wasn't thinking.

Ditto have seen the redneck boxes b4 and pretty impressive

Thanks for the info. I will start checking the clearance areas for a storage box. Got to stay on budget...

I had boxes on my Magnum and they were always full of water after a launch.

If you could seal the bottoms, you would be fine.

I was gonna experiment with this in my Nortech before I decided to sell it.

I got 2 brand aluminum new boxes and SS mounting brackets for the trailer for sale, if anyone intrested...... never used, look like the ones in post #6,...... thanks Joe
