24' boat on good trailer from dayton Ohio to denver

You can go with a legal driver with DOT number and insurance like www.seawisehauling.com (awesome people!) :coolcowboy:

Or go illegal, take a gamble, save some money, and drive the prices down for the honest people who are trying to make a living....:poopoo:

Just think how you want your competition treating you in your job.....

kilrbusa 02-03-2012 04:04 AM

Offshore---I am curious what you are saying?

offshorexcursion 02-03-2012 05:47 PM

I am saying it is not legal to pay to have anything hauled unless the hauler is legal. There are plenty of people out there advertising to haul on craigslist, U-ship, etc, but they are not legal. Not insured. etc etc.

I recommended a good company that is legal, there are others out there also.

Why hire someone illegal, undercutting prices etc, just to save a buck, but take a gamble on loosing more then you saved.

A way to think about if going the illegal way is worth it to save a buck, I ask how you would feel if some one could do your job for less money taking money out of your pocket, especially if they are not qualified or legal??

The reason I bring this up right off the bat cause the pattern seems to always be..

Someone post they need something hauled.
People Rec a good company
OP complains the price is to high, and ask about going the "cheap" illegal route
etc etc.

No insult the the OP on this thread. Just giving my advice like they asked for! :drink:

Not sure if you have seen the price of fuel tolls tires oil changes truck payments insurance hotels meals or coffee bUT yes its a pretty good number. You ever been out west to Denver in February? Could be bad weather and not much chance of finding another boat on trailer back? Lots of variables involved. I could do cheaper of had time to set up something for a return trip and shipper is flexible but that's a good number a the job stands. In my opinion

I think the tv show is showing exactly what Uship is about, you could probably find someone that would do that run for 1200 with his gas job 3500 van, LOL I loved that idiot towing that huge trailer with that gas jobber, pretty sur ehis break down was a typical intake gasket, DUH, also noticed he wasn't running dot numbers, I love all the guys on there "borroing" there friends trailer, What a joke, but it is a great show and entertaining

People need to get real with the times and costs these days, on the flip side you may find someone needing a return haul and he/she may do it cheaper, but thats just the luck of the draw

I love that show as well, but scary stuff huh? I think the chick is the only one i would let move my boat....for obvious reasons :D

I used to have a 2007 3500 SRW van, got 13 mph empty, and 9 -10 loaded. I can't imagine what it would have got towing a steel framed 24-26ft car hauler!!! And this dude is running it from FL to NY for $900? HOW?

Still fun to watch. Some of those "buddies" they call in are already there, they are driving the chase vehicle that gets thos camera angles

I did a back haul off Uship when I delivered my Toronado to the buyer in Ohio. It worked well for my fuel situation, diesel-not a gasser, and paid for my stay and food.

When I do this stuff I take pics and do all kinds of documentation just to keep everything straight. If something was a setup then I will have all the proof needed to keep me clean.

You do realize that is a made for TV show, right? It is cast, scripted, filmed and full of BS to keep people watching, and if you notice, most of the ad's that play during the show are for beer. Go figure...

Look I have been around for a long time a lot of you know me some of you dont if you want to be a legit hauler it costs you a buck a mile for the truck to sit in your driveway legitimately insured registered and DOT legal....thats before the fuel and expense to run it.....$3.00/mile for a non permitted load is more than fair if they are good customers and repeat often $2.25 and up for non permitted load is really doing someone a favor!!!! So now go and do your own cost analysis and tell me how far off I am.....Hell it costs you almost $200.00 just to drive up the toll roads in the northeast empty!!!!
