Unless you can get a deal cut I would guess at least 2 grand and more like 4-5 to have it shipped. I got all the quotes in the world from MI to NY and they wanted 1400-2k to do it. And that was 1/3 of the distance.

I cant remember the web page but there is one out there where you put in the requirements and people bid on it.

PUT IT ON USHIP.COM FOR BIDS

Ironing out the details on the boat now. Found a few decent shipping offers. Any other suggestions or anyone leaving california empty?

soldier4402 03-19-2012 11:41 AM

88bullet 03-19-2012 11:47 AM

Good Honest people who will do the job right. Have no clue if the price will be what you want but worth a try. You do get what you pay for though.....

Good luck!

I looked into shipping a 21 foot boat a few months ago from Maine to Washington and typically had quotes of $4000 to $6000 (thru USHIP) which didnt make sense for a $5000 boat but thats just what it costs.
The cheapest way to go would be to fly out to cali, rent an SUV and drive it back--Would probably cost you about $2200-$2500 assuming $1200 for fuel, $600 for SUV (one way rental) and another $400-700 for hotel and food.

Plus plane ticket, and most important....Loss of income, vacation days, etc!

BTW, stay away from U-Ship.

Thats why a boat that far doesnt really make sense to purchase unless you get a steal. By the time you factor in a flight to just look at it once and then shipping. NY to Cali is about 2500miles factor in 10mpg in a two vehicle you have at least 1500 bucks in fuel.

I plan on having a Boat shipped from Florida around the week of March 26-30 to So California, are you looking at the Pantera in Huntington Beach ?
Im in Fullerton which is very close.

Maybe your guy can bring my Boat out and return with yours. We might save a few bucks if he has a return delivery.

The majority of drivers that use U-ship to find loads are illegal in at least 1 way. Most of the time about to go out of business if not already out of business! The prices are lower, but you are not getting the same service.

U-ship is about as good as the dating services of Craiglist :lolhit:
