Towing with Cayenne Turbo
I am planning on towing a 38 scarab KV which tips the scales at 9000lbs wet and loaded. I have access to a Porsche Cayenne Turbo which I beleive is good (or rated for) 7710lbs.
It isnt far to where I need at all, do you think you could wing it at low speeds??:poopoo: Will def be getting a more appropriate rig in future haha. |
Probably not a good idea, but give it a try!!! :D

A wet and loaded 38 KV on a trailer weighs a lot more than 9000lbs and it will absoultley punish that Porche.

Are you planning on replacing the engine ............. in the Porsche? :party-smiley-004:

...but MOST important would be the lives of the people around you when towing. Seriously? Just go post this on the Naus thread and tell us you were really just joking. |
I think the 911 turbo would be more suited WTF

Please take some pictures while you are doing this. For are fun and then you can go ahead and forward them to the insurance company as well. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. :lolhit:

I pulled my 22' Monterey with a Cayenne S and it did an awesome job. It does have an impressive tow rating. Actually did a lot better job than the Dodge 1500 we traded it in on. However, we traded it in on the Dodge because it was one unreliable POS that was horrendously expensive to fix. We snapped a drive shaft to start off. Then it just went from there.
But the positives were, great power, great braking...just only until the next time it broke. What you are planning sounds a bit much though. |
I would guess that boat and trailer are closer to 15k wet loaded.
