trailer help!!

Hi guys I'm new here and could use some help I live in nj and have to Tow a boat about an hour and a half to my house. I need to rent or barrow a trailer for a 24 foot. Chris craft. The bigger problem is it's on a trailer that I have to get it off of on land not sure how that works …any input would be great thank you!!

cant help with a trailer, but call around to a marina for either a crane lift or fork lift. That really is the only way to do it unless you can put it in the water. Otherwise you could get crafty with jacks but that would require moving slow and removing jacks to slide on and off. Either way call a marina they will charge you but it should be minimal to swap trailers.

Am I missing something here? It's already on a trailer which I assume isn't part of the deal? Also asuming that this is a new to you boat? Why can't you just work out a deal with the owner of the trailer it's on to let you transport it the hour away or have it delivered to you by him the hour? What is the plan once it gets to your new location? Is it going in the water or on blocks? This should have been figured out before the deal was finalized. Better advice can be given if more info is known.

Yes the boat is new to me the trailer has a bad axle I'm told or I would have just used it ..the trailer does not belong to the boat owner or I would buy it …

call local marinas and ask if they can pick it up or have a trailer you can rent. personally I would just pay somebody that is licensed and bonded to go get it, that way you wad up some trailer with your boat on it, its not on you.

I work at a marina and I'm going to agree with those here that have recommended that you have somebody professional move the boat for you. An hour and a half is a decent trip and lots of things can go wrong, some of them quite serious. A marina has the equipment and the knowhow to do the job right. And, if something does go wrong, they're insured.

anybody can tow it, but most arent going to have boat trailers but could still tow it on flat bed but that required a crane on both ends. Call a marina they have trailers and will go get it. Look around for marinas and get quotes, alot of marinas have these hydraulic trailers that confrom to most boats, and being a smaller boat should be cheaper.
