worst dieael yet by ford...fuel economy sucks also..you can add a tuner to make it better but wont last over 100k and will blow up...
cummins first then duramax.. |
Really???? go set up a lawn chair along side any interstate and tally up the number of dodge, chevy and ford trucks pulling big loads for a living and get back to us...I'll save you some time and let you know that the answer is DODGE. Granted they have made some duds in years past, but for the last 10+ years they have an over all package that is hands down above the rest.
Also...go raise the hood on 99% of the big rigs on the road today and count the number of cylinders under the hood....there is a reason behind all this ....

Hard on fuel, some had issues with the radiators. Overall all not a bad truck, I was a service director for at a Ford and Chevy dealer during the 6.4l life cycle. At the time I held onto my 04 6.0 and waited to buy a 12.. Don't let anyone fool ya, all diesel trucks the no matter the brand have there issues. Ive worked on both Ford and Chevy, theres a reason I drive a blue oval. I wouldn't even look at a chysler product, POS!!!!!!!!!

I have an early 2008 F-450 4x4 King Ranch. I bought it new back in Apr of 2007. I love mine. As long as it continues to behave I'll hang onto it. I have had issues with it though. All cooling system issues, and all issues were fixed under warranty (no more warranty now though). Radiator was replaced at one year. At two years, radiator and entire cooling system was replaced. At three years, same deal - radiator and entire cooling system. On that third time I was looking at lemon-laws.... But didn't have the time to deal with it. But, for the past two years, not a single problem. Never had any motor problems. Now that it's broken in good, I'm up to about a whopping 12mpg! Started off averaging 7-8, but it has been steadily going up over the past couple of years. I'm at 77K miles now. And, it has the badass 4.88 rear end - part of my fuel mileage problem. But tows awesome which is why I bought it.

Dodge has by far & away the most reliable engine.... But lets keep it real all you guys goin on & on about the motor forgot to mention the rest of the truck around the engine!!!

Ford hasnt built a reliable diesel since the 7.3. If u want diesel go with cummins or duramax.
