Mine is a 2WD auto, no mods, no extra weight, just me doing the speed limit. Dont even have a bedliner. The highway here is perfectly flat, and I am not doing calc method, just the lie-o-meter. But if we all go by the lie-o-meter...is it lying??

EVIC as of lately. I did the first couple tank by hand and was usually .2 to .3 lower than the the EVIC. My truck has 3.73 and I learned realy quick to keep the speed under 60 anything over 60 and the mileage was horrible. 55mph is the sweet spot but just so damn slow. I was looking for a 4:10 truck but never found a fully loaded one and did not want to wait to order one. Im happy I did not find a 4:10 truck.

I drive a 2011 6.7, (early 2011 non-HO), which should be pretty similar to the earlier ones). I was hoping for better mileage, but generally see 16-17 unloaded. Most of my driving is rural or freeway. I got it with the 3.42 gears since I don't really pull with the truck. Clearly the DPF probably robs it of 1-2 mpg.

Anyone have any experience with the Smarty programmers? I'd like to get 20 mpg unloaded... My 2006 5.9 megacab with just a fuel timing add-on used to give right near 20 on the highway.

I see alot of people have thier smartys for sale over at cummins forum. Some are going h&S and some efi live which is not offered on the 4th gen yet. H&S has software that can be purchased called MCC that is compatible with the mini maxx and xrt pro. With MCC you can write your own software or have a tuner custom tune the truck or you can purchase a tune from a vendor. I think that the MCC will be our best bet for an economy tune, the bad news is that it was just relesed a couple months ago and is in its learning stages. I know a couple vendors are selling tunes for the mccbut I have not seen an economy tune yet.

5.9 and 2007.5-2009 6.7s will benefit the most in stock form from H&S. DPF on or off, this is what we find to cause the least headaches and greatest benefit. That said, if you run something a little hotter as my 07 mega cab is along with my partners 07 5.9 mega cab, then EFI live and Cummins Tuner is the best. My business partner has his 07 5.9 set up with "large" twins, 150 over injectors, Dual cp3's along with the engine having about 16000 in the longblock. We both run Valair clutches - his being triple disc and mine dual. I run H&S with injectors and a large single, and he now runs CT for programing. If you have significant mods then the Cummins Tuner is where its at. Just had a guy with an 09 QC 4x4 auto 6.7 add the XRT pro and pick up 2mpg with his DPF on running on midrange setting. Hand figured, my dually pulls down 18.2 on the highway empty running 75-80 with 3.73 gears. Lie o meter says 19+... hope this helps.

Your highways allow 60mph? God if I did 60 on a highway here I'd get rammed off the road by an 18-wheeler. Don't think I'm ever below 70-75 unless traffic is bad lol, usually at least 75 just to keep up with the flow.

LOL, capital beltway speed limit is 65. Im in rush hour traffic so I stay to the right and keep my pace while others fly and slam on the brakes in the left lanes

I with I would have had a chance to run EFI on my old 5.9 before i parted it out and traded it in. It had triple turbos blah blah blah.

Smarty is ok but i would go H&S. It takes forever to adjust tuning with the smarty and it will shut the radio off etc etc...
