does anybody tow every weekend with a sport chassi or a 4500 or 5500 chevy or freightliner ? is it a problem at your local ramp and parking lot ?

Freightliner Sport Chassis here. No problems. Tows & pulls out like nothing else.

I didn't mean pulling the boat out of the water , I was thinking about the parking lot , tight areas , like at cumberland where we put in at it gets tight sometimes, maybe most times .

My dad and I are currently putting together a 6500 GMC crew cab pickup. Hopefully we will know next year how hard it is to find a place to park it at the lake.

My Chev 4500 kodiak will out turn and maneuver any pickup truck, and is way easier to maneuver a trailer with. Plus, it has a dump box, and nothing to damage on the sides. People give it plenty of room, and the dump box gives great traction. Its never even thought about slipping, even when I had to use a ramp that had an inch of sand on it.

The more common problem, at least at our ramps, is not having the length in the parking stalls for any long trailer/truck combo, but the Medium duty truck, unless you've got a quad cab with an extra long bed, isn't must longer.

I can't imagine that a Kodiak (which I think are really cool) would be THAT much longer than a 4-door, long bed dually. At least not longer enough that it would cause an issue.

Most of them have 12' beds, which makes a single cab Kodiak about as long as a quad-cab truck. When I said the above, I was envisioning the big quad-cab kodiaks with 12' beds that you see running around. They are indeed quite long.

A Monroe conversion quad-cab is built on a short wheelbase frame, and only has an 8' bed, so yes, that is roughly equivalent to regular pickup truck.
