Electric over hydraulic conversion
 

What is involved in upgrading a Myco 3 axel trailer from hydraulic to electric over hydraulic ? ( trailer has disc brakes on 2 of the axles ) Cost and what's involved and what conversion kit is suggested?

I used the Titan/Brakerite SD conversion kit. I had my done at a shop at a cost of $1000 including parts and labor. After looking at it, if you can install yourself, you can save all labor costs. Piece of c-channel alum, and drill mount holes. Other than that it is plug and play. They did however dump the surge tongue and weld a new solid tongue/coupler. I use a regular Prodigy brake controller, but it depends on the make of truck you own. Other EoH brand is Dexter.

There are a number of threads on here with a lot of good information. You should check your local state laws however as I believe many states now require brakes on all axles.

97, you run dual batteries on the EOH deal?

I have a 2005 ford sd . which eh will work with the factory brake unit in the ford ?

If you have a Myco, I suggest calling them directly and getting the parts from them. They even have a configuration tool on their website which may help you determine the parts without their help.

Most of the EoH controllers will work with the Factory Ford setups; but there may be an adapter needed. You need to talk to the specific EoH controller manufacturer you are investigating.

Do a search on "EoH conversion" via the OSO search tool. It's been discussed and documented many, many times.

Once you tow with EoH brakes, you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner. I did.

Looking at 97's conversion posted above, I like it, but I would strongly suggest mounting the components HIGH and as far forward as possible. You do NOT want to get them wet trying to use a shallow ramp.
