Uhh wtf are you talking about? Even the 5.0 makes the 5.3 it's little b!tch. Ok so the 5.3 get's similar mileage as the eco, well the eco has a sh!tload more power and torque especially across a flat power band, that makes the 5.3 look even worse that a more powerful overall motor can do that and maintain mpg. And towing, ha, eco feels like a mini diesel and the 5.3 feels like a struggling V8 that needs a serious update. Eco will smoke it severely empty in a race, and in towing no comparison.

To be fair when the 5.3 came out it offered more hp than the 5.7 and for a V8 in the 1/2 class all around was a pretty good engine specially factoring its mpg. But that was 2007, its now five years later and Both dodge and ford have surpassed that engine all around.

But really its mentality at times, people have a hard time thinking a V-6 is better than a V8, alot of people have family loyalty to a brand. I know people who buy a Ford SD every 5 years because their dad did and their dad it, when clearly ford doesnt necessarily have the best SD type truck every model year. Companies spend a alot of money on branding and advertising just for this reason. Why do I buy Nike every time, when And One or no name shoes probably at times can be better or just as good. Branding.

I think the 6 in the 150's are the same motors in the Taurus SHO's. I hear they're rockets and would love to drive one.

Even worse if towing, at least the 5.4 had great low end grunt. The 5.3 always felt more like it's power was too high in the powerband. Case in point friend traded his 11' 1500 5.3 on an new F-150 5.0, just no comparison. Nevermind the Ford just rides, drives far better on the rough roads in CO. But the 5.3 felt barely adequate unladen through the mountains with 4 of us going to ski. He was totally against Ford, but one drive in the 5.0 had him sold. He loved the ecoboost but wanted the V8 and mainly it's sound lol, already has it modded.

Yeah for the decked out lariat. I got 95% loaded XLT for 32k after rebates buddy got a loaded Fx4 for 34 after rebates. Stickers on both of these trucks were 39 and 40 respectively.

And actually the 54k is the platinum version, I guess if you feel the need to have one of those.

I just went to ford and built a Lariat 4x4, super crew EB, for 44k.

yes they are, except they may be tuned a little different. The same 6 is in the regular taurus and other cars just not turbod. The EB in other cars like the explorer is like 2.8 EB or something

I have been very happy with my 5.0L in my F150.

I added a bed cover and imco SIDO exhaust. On flat ground at 55-58mph I am pulling 24mpg. And I have hand calculated the computer several times and it is right on. Getting above 60mph it does start dropping off quite a bit.

Pulling my 24' old resin bucket, i get about 15-17 going the same speed. At 65mph, its about 13mpg.

my truck is 2011 F-150 Screw 4x4 with 5.5 bed and 3.55 rearend.

5 Star tuning makes several tunes for all 3 F-150 motors. After warranty is out, I will be getting one. I have read where his tunes make the 6.2 a complete monster.
