Trailer redo
Well besides some finishing touches I`m finally done.
Trailer started needing some TLC http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s8/...19002424-4.jpg only pic I got on the trailer lol: http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s8/...19008200-4.jpg Sandblasted, 2 part epoxy primer and paint to match boat: All carpeted wood filler pieces replaced with heavy gauge diamond plate http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s4/...44542470-4.jpg http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s4/...44542660-4.jpg Also added my version of a drive guard plus all new tires http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s8/...19102332-4.jpg http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s4/...44542818-4.jpg All new electric brakes, seals and bearings. Pulled every wire and ran all new thru out. Every connection is soldered + dialectic grease + 2 layers of heat shrink. (this took the longest to do) Every bolts and negative connection is stainless steel. http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s8/...18983492-4.jpg LOVE this thing! http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s8/...18978948-4.jpg |

Looks great!
I'm getting ready to do the same to mine...two questions: What did you do with the brake lines prior to sandblasting? Did you have the boat pulled off or did you have access to another trailer? |

To sandblast, prime and paint was under $1000. He also ran new wires, cut and fit the diamond plate and built the drive guard . All that around $1800. Can`t beat that, I had another quote for just paint at $5K  http://www.manta.com/c/mx2c6h8/renew...efinishing-llc Located in Addison |

Iccedppl- Great job. Did you use pressure treated wood on the bunks? I just replaced my bunks and used pressure treated wood and carpet w/glue and staples on the bottom.
Wannabe |
Looks sharp. I have bought SS center caps on eBay the last few times.
|
Good looking trailer rehab!
Did you cover the LED strips with anything or do they just adhere? Any close up daylight pics? |

Damn I did this myself and it cost me over $50,000.00 just to sandblast and paint. Industrial sandblast equipment, 185 CFM compressor, sand and new booth for paint, the paint cost me more than $2,000.

CHARGEIT: I used 3M double sided tape to adhere to the trailer WANNABE: yes pressure treated wood, stainless staples, and 3m Glue Sumnerfliesby, thanx dude hows you`rs coming along? Brian41: I hope that price included all that Equipment.. ouch! |
Mine's all done...just have to go pick it up. I'm waiting for a day when its not snowing and/or salty on the roads to bring it home. Can't wait to see it, actually!
|
Yes I was including what I spent on equipment and to build booth but I still spent $2,000 for epoxy primer and single stage paint. I also spent $700.00 on 2 pallets of bagged sand but only used a pallet and a half. We figured out that my cost of sandblasting alone was $54.00 an hour which includes paying my help, diesel fuel for compressor and sand. It took 17 hours to sandblast the first time and since it took 6 weeks to finish the booth it needed sandblast again but took 11 hours the second time with light oxidation.
