On the most basic level it takes X horsepower to make the truck go X speed. Period. It takes X amount of fuel to make that engine develop that horsepower. It's a little different in a diesel since there is no throttle plate, but when applied to gasoline engines, the throttle plate it the ultimate restrictor of airflow. All a less efficient filter element does is cause the driver to open the plate further at any given speed. In a diesel, you will just have to give it more fuel.

Good to see some folks still using the 6.5 to tow their boats. Here I thought I was the only one. It wont pull its a** from a wet paper sack, but it does get me to the boat ramp.
