about 10 years ago i was i arkansas boating with a buddy,we got in hid diesel truck to go get some beer and he decided to fill the 2nd tank in the truck, filled it to the rim with 87 .i still laugh about it whenever i see him,i guess he was lucky that the truck had 2 separate tanks so none of the gas got into the system.

I had a buddy fill his snowmobile with diesel before. Didnt run very well.
I myself, accidently put 15w40 rotella in my snowmobiles oil tank (2 stroke). long story how it got in there. All was well until my buddy riding behind me told me there were flames shooting out my exhaust when i whacked it. I knew something wasnt right at that point. I had to pump it out and scrub the burnt caked oil residue off my belly pan.

I left my 6.0 running while filling at the local wall mart gas station...
The fuel truck was there filling the tanks and mine ran away on just the vapors....
That sucked....

Stand corrected:
In 2000 BP unveiled a new, unified global brand. To visually signify the company’s new emphasis on going “green,” BP officials adopted a new identifier – a green, yellow and white sunburst to symbolize energy in all its dynamic forms. As part of the new color scheme, BP changed the color of its gasoline pumps as well. BP pumps sport a green handle on gasoline dispensers and black handles for diesel. This relatively simple change has caused some unforeseen problems for drivers.
Google shows many a drivers made the same mistake at BP stations.
In Arkansas a weight and measure inspector required green nozzles for diesel on gas pumps. Guess this is mostly a practice not a law.
Boycott BP gas stations.
