Rob
I bought an 08 with 6.4. After my truck was totalled by the tornado last year. Took it to Ford and got all of the recall issues addressed and the previous owner had all of the service done at the dealer even wiper blades. I know the repairs could be expensive. But i could not be more pleased with the truck. You don't even know the 27 is behind you and 15 to 17 mpg. It does drops some during the exhuast cleaning.

can tell you this...not a ford, but I just bought a 08 Duramax, already had the DPF/cat delete exhaust, EGR block off and air box mods...had no ck engine light on and ran fine...just crappy mileage...could find no info on what tune was in it...checked all around around for tuners/tuning and yes the EPA did come down hard on them and only "off road" tuners available to work with these deletes...I was told a tuned ecm using EFI live was the way to go..so used a place called duramax tuner...just swapped out mine 3 days ago..runs great not sure on mileage yet...but their company has another name and they may due fords as well..key is what you say about your truck when you call....Rob

I can't get the sct's anymore but the spartans are still available. If you can't get your hands on a Spartan just buy a dashdaq and get the software for a custom tune.
