You are not towing a small boat. I would not go with anything less than an E-rated tire; as tires are definitely not a place to skimp on a towing setup.
Check out Cooper tires. I am a huge fan and have always had great luck with their products. I had them on all three of my trucks; (sold one of them a few weeks ago and this is first set of Coopers for new owner and he loves them as well). http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Light-Truck.aspx |
^^^ Rolling on Cooper (20" Zeon LTZ's) now and love them.

Thanks guys. That was the definate answer I was looking for. E it is. Just need to try and stay in budget.

unless your tring to get the off road knobby cool guy tires you find a descent agressive looking tire for under your budget for sure. Those off road jobs are noisy, kill mpg, and wear out quicker anyways.
check walmart, discount tire online |
Not big knobby. Mildly agressive. reasonable on the highway but not weak and out of place on a construction site. I was trying to group the rims I like( which are economical yet good lookin, 210 apiece ish) Dick Cepek dc2, with tires for the task but that is proving to be difficult. Couple that with , where to have them sent. Home, Maryland where the truck is or Fla where the truck is going to pick up the boat. There are worse problems to have I guess.

good luck. My last diesel had 18in lariat rims and I thought those looked nice. might try an 18 inch rim with a bigger tire maybe, that might cost less than 20in rims and 20in tires.
Try Ebay. My F250 came with steel rims on an XLT, dont know why. I got brand new take off lariat rims for 400 bucks. |
Bri I've used cooper discoverer stt on a cpl trucks. I like em they are cheap, ride nice & quiet & they wear good.

What color is the truck? You might can find some cheap(er) used rims and paint them. I am a fan of www.dipyourcar.com stuff and currently have the rims on my beater Dodge 2500 painted black. If I decide to go back to the polished, all it takes is a few minutes with a pressure washer. The rims on my Dually and the Tahoe that I sold are also black--on black trucks.

Black wheels on black trucks are where it's at right now. There is a dark green Ford with 2-tone lower panels running around my house with black wheels on it--chrome bumpers and nerf bars. It looks absolutely ridiculous. Black wheels on silver, red, white, and especially black can look great.
My Ford and former Chevy, and a nice hot rod I saw in Germany a few months back. |
