Cummins Diesel Titan Confirmed

Looks like Nissan wants back in on the truck game. Looking forward to seeing the real life numbers on this.

That's the best way to do it, no doubt.

Wildman_grafix 08-21-2013 03:22 PM

Huh, a cummins V-8 diesel, interesting.

beaver 3 08-21-2013 03:29 PM

Cummins had v8 a long time ago. We are installing one of these engines into a united pot smokers truck here at work for field testing. Supposedly there are others with over 250,000 miles already. Hopefully Nissan keeps all the ECM equipment so I never have to work on them. It will be a bastard to work on them in a small pick up platform.

Next thing you know they'll be selling out to Toyota. It will be interesting to see numbers vs dodge's Cummings. Mostly price.

state1310 08-21-2013 04:07 PM

now they just need to change the styling of the truck a little bit . its been the same since 2004

ezstriper 08-22-2013 07:31 AM

it's been a poor seller since introduced, rumored to kill it off at any time...terrible brake issues from couple of guys I know who bought them...along with crappy MPG as well...

beaver 3 08-22-2013 09:20 AM

The 6b with dodge is a mid range engine and this one is a light duty. Dodge puts it in a 3/4, 1 ton, and heavier apps. There is supposedly going to be a mid range version of this engine also for the smaller over the road trucks like the f-650 etc.

bajadad 08-22-2013 09:45 AM

I heard Dodge is making the trucks for Nissan. Dodge has a agreement with cummins so they cant put a motor in anything that will compete with them.so you will prob. be getting a junky Dodge with a good motor.

Yes lol

Nissan trucks are still made in their Mississippi plant, the deal with Dodge never happened. New Titans should be out next year.

Say what you want but I have a 07 titan and its best half ton towing thing I have owned. I have towed things all over my whole life and I am fully aware it can't tow a 12k load but for moderate stuff it does a great job.

A man who knows his limits, better then most. If it works it works, don't push it.

Wondering when the news would break on this one... This was always one that was not to be talked about..,,

Kyain 08-23-2013 07:33 PM

I'm more curious if we're going to get away from some of the GM engines we use in the smaller power gen and replace them with natural gas versions of this.

I wouldnt be surprised. It seams there is a underground big push for developing natural gas products...

Ram is already supposed to have one out next year as well. Titan probably needs something. Anybody that I have known to have one hates them and got rid of them. To top it off are probably the ugliest truck on the market.

state1310 08-26-2013 07:01 AM

i had a 04 2wd . it was a great truck for the most part .only problems were mpg , and both exhaust manifolds cracked but they were fixed under warranty . the titan had less hp but more tq than my 07 gmc vortech max 6.0 .
