2014 GMC Sierra...better MPG than Eco Boost

Been reading up a bit on the new Sierra. It looks like it tows up to 11,500 and gets better gas mileage than the Eco Boost.

Supposedly that's the same gas mileage as my Pontiac G8 GT and could tow my Sunsation Dominator.

Thoughts on it? Anyone have one yet?

which engine is that 5.3 or 6.2? Personally im a GMC man. I looked at 3 F150's yesterday that were 2010's and all 3 were starting to rust in the cab corners. Not impressed at all! needless to say I will be buying another crew cab GMC when the time comes

What are the mileage numbers? I noticed in GM's advertising they said something like "best mileage of a V8 fullsize truck" or class or something to that effect. That strategically excludes the the Ecoboost.

I think the new GM trucks do that displacement on demand thing where they shut off 4 cylinders when they're cruising.

They claim 16 city 19 combined 23 city.

and dodge says the same thing. need to ask a bunch of people that actually own the trucks. got a 12' f-150 w/eco and after 25k miles no issues. averaging about 17-18 around town and seen 21 on highway cruising from FL to PA at around 80mph.

been around a lot of f-150 and 1500 chevy under lease and didn't see any rust issues and that was up in central pa. also hopefully gm or chevy came back to the 21 st century and put disc brakes all the way around. that was the deal breaker for me.

Few people I know have the ecNO boost, say the mileage is nothing like advertised( 16-23). Being a gm guy, I would stick with the GM, not to mention the LS platform is BULLET proof.

Do you guys salt the roads up there? My family has owned a ton of ford trucks and none had rust issues.

GM in 04 had discs all the way around but went back to drums in the rear in 2005.......stupid

The deal breaker for me (GM only 1989-2010, had 9 new trucks) was all the 1500's are made in Silag, Mexico........I bought my first Ford in 2011. I will say the Ford interior is great, the seams on the bottom of the doors are sloppy and look like an ideal place for rust to start. GM got stale with their interiors and the "rubber basketball" pattern on the doors/interior plastics is lame.
