Thanks for all the help!

It sounds like you are OK then BUT keep in mind that sometimes stuff like this takes a little life off a component, like mentioned have trans serviced in near future and inspect for excessive debris. Another thing that was mentioned that I have been thinking about was the fact it actually blew a hose off, it didn't just leak out slowly. In this case you are MUCH better off as the other poster mentioned, instead of slowly getting low as it sprayed out a pinhole which allows it to get really hot and slowly start slipping, burning everything in it, it came off, emptied itself out and got to a point QUICKLY where it wouldn't move which caused you to stop and see the problem.
I would maintain documentation and if anything seems a little off get a line pressure test done, they attach a pressure gauge to trans, cycle the pcs with a scan tool or tranx200 to vary the amperage which takes line pressure form base to max, if the pump is scarred you will never get to the max which is normally 175-190 psi if trans is stock (On the 4l60e'ss we diagnose). If you have a clean pan when its pulled off will tell you that this is a non issue and on other hand a few teaspoons of debris will tell you the trans is on borrowed time, Smitty

I have quite a few friends that work at dealerships and repair shops. Your issues happen not just at dealers I'm sorry to say. Luckily I do most of my own work or know a good quality person if need be. It sucks relying on other people for sure.

I do all my own work as well. Transmission builds engines builds. Done a few frame offs resto's so I'm always in for taking my time and learning the trades myself with great success. Currently doing a performance t-56 rebuild for the time. Wish I could have waited but they it for two weeks. May have been more and I was royally pissed off. I have respect for opp!

Update on the transmission. Last week I hauled my 280 Velocity down to Sanford Florida to the Velocity factory. I then hauled a new, to me, 290 VR 1 up to Nashville to Eddie Young's Performance Marine to have some work done. No problems either way, Suburban did a fine job and with temps in Florida in the low 80s the transmission temp was about 180 degrees.

Again thanks to all who offered advise, OSO people are a fantastic resource.
