Dropped her off at 7:30 and got a phone call at 9:30 saying there was a problem. They let it roll off the rack with the door open. They gave me a 2014 1500 4x4 to use and it's snowing here hmmmm:evilb:

That majorly SUCKS! Whoever is replacing the door - make sure they ensure the body pillar with the door hinges are correct.

As far as the hmmmmm - after having a day like yours, you could have a lot of fun with an AAA membership and their 4x4 in the snow - LOL Don't forget to report back in how it handles the weather - some people on here might be looking at a 1500 so you would be providing a service too!!!!

Is the dealer eating the cost of repair or submitting a claim to an insurance company?
I had a similar experience at a shop (truck hit in their lot, after hours according to them). I turned in a comprehensive claim, no deductible or raised rates. Fast forward a year and the dealer tried to jerk me around on trade-in because the truck "doesn't have a clean CarFax."

Not exactly the same but a few years ago I had a 2007 Mustang GT that I purchased from a Ford Dealer and then a few months later some Jack A$$ rear ended me at a red light. I had it repaired at the Ford dealer I purchased it from. Then about 6 months later I wanted to trade it in and they gave me a low ball offer because of the accident on the Car Fax! I went to a Dodge dealer and they gave me more than the Ford Dealer. Make sure they compensate you for the repair and what it does to the vehicle title.

Make sure when you pick it up you spray all around the closed door with a hose right there at the dealership.

That door probably saved it from heading across the building and/or out/through the door.
Your truck looks really clean. Is it kept indoors? If so, the paint should be easy to match up and have it look right. Make sure you get a complete new door, (not just a skin) and also that your hinges/pillar are 100% in spec. Have it laser measured if possible.

I wonder how much air you can get in a new Silverado?
It didn't happen if you don't have pics!

And I agree on the diminished value as mentioned by Sunrocket24. It may not hit Carfax though if they fix it inhouse.

Cut all the BS and get the dealer to trade you out of the truck. Less headaches down the road, you have them by the short hairs today. Come trade in time it will be a different story.
