In a comparison, I would not take FREE Marathons if I could pay full retail for Maxxis. It is not worth the trouble to me with the "life" experiences that I have had.
Yes, they are that good. No heat build up, no scoffing. I have gone through a new set in less than 1000 miles just from turning with a triple before. |

Brian, my new ST225/75/15 Goodyear Marathons are D load rated.
I can only fit the 205s on my little boat's trailer. Currently running 205/75/14s at 26.11" tall. Going to jump up to 205/75/15s at 27.11" tall. The 225/75/15 at 28.29" tall; and nearly and inch wider is not going to work. The trailer was built in 1976 or so. Everything was smaller back then, myself included. :D |
I installed a set of Maxxis 225/75/15 E load and couldn't be happier.

For some reason my trailer is 1981 and has "Turbine" style "Mags" that are 14x7/ I do not know if you can (scratch thay SHOULD) put a 215/75/14 on a 14x7 rim...Anyone. If I don't use these I will buy a premounted tire/wheel.

If is is a single axle trailer you can use an automotive tire with no issues. I would look to go 15" in a lower profile if it will meet your weight needs.
