What year is your Silverado. The stock controller in HD 2014 or older GM trucks do not have the correct software to run EOH, They changed it on the HD2015 models that just started to come out. My 2012 2500 wont even work the brakes on my boat trailer with EOH but it will work fine with just standard electric brakes. Talked to the dealer and they told me that I would have to disconnect the stock one and go with a aftermarket controller in order to work the brakes on my trailer.

Actually you can get a late model GM Truck w/ an ITB to work w/ a trailer equipped w/ EOH brakes by wiring in a pair of electric brake pads. A buddy of mine showed me how to do it & it worked like a champ. We both have Skater trailers, mine has a Carlisle brake system on it & there's something in the circuitry that has the brain looking for some sort of impulse / resistance that a pair of electric pads emits.

They both have to be hard wired in so neither are plug & play. Other than the 2 mounting holes it's a glorified brake pad in my opinion. We just tywrapped ours neatly underneath out of sight.
At least someone is offering a solution. Why GM doesn't update their controller is beyond me. My buddies 2013 F250 is plug & play w/ his Myco, no module required. |

You can wire in a light bulb, anything that has a draw. A bit shady tree for me, I'd rather have the module for 60 bucks and move on, just me though.

Not yet. Been traveling a lot for work but I'll get after it this weekend.

So here's the latest. I wasn't able to diagnose what was wrong and have been traveling a lot for work so I took the trailer to my local trailer mechanic. After several phone calls with Brakerite they say the pump is bad. New one ordered and should be back in business this week.
No reason given by Brakerite on why the pump failed after only three years. Dave |
I have a 2011 chevy duelly and factory controller works fine with my myco/break rite trailer.
