any opinions on venture trailers?
 

Been looking for a new or used trailer for my 2000 272 baja, found a mint used steel one for 4500 700 miles away by the time i buy diesel and a hotel room will be easily over 5000$ to get, found a place 120 miles from me today that sells Venture aluminum trailers. 15 inch load range d tires, 4000 lb torsion axles, disc brakes, aluminum I beam frame , rated tp hold a 7200 lb boat for $4000, I haven't found a new steel trailer for that price yet!! Anyone know if they are junk or not, the salesman claims it has 6 1/2 inch I beam type frame but they show a 3x4 I beam on Ventures website. Driving down to take a look maybe in next few days, price is real good just wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about them from PERSONAL experience. My boat is 14 years old, cant see spending a **** load of money on a trailer, Smitty

Personally I think they're junk. I had a brand new one for my old 31 bullet. In less than six months both fenders cracked, and 2 cross members cracked as well. Brake lines were not fastened very well and rubbed a hole through one. The factory was zero help for any of these problems. I would keep looking, they're are better trailers out there.

I have one. It was new when I bought my boat and is their heaviest rated tandem axle trailer. They leave alot to be desired. My boat is hard to load and if it wasn't lift kept all summer, it would have guides installed. My heritage trailers I've had were much better. For the money, they are a lot of bang for the buck. I prefer 2x4 bunks and welded construction but my trailer hasn't let me down and I've put a lot of miles on it. Is it a Myco, Manning, or Heritage? No. Does it do a good job for the price? Yes.

My father has one - we bent an axle on it hauling logging mats but we were inadvertently way over weight. It was aluminum. Other than that, no real complaints but he hauls to the ramp once a year and it's 5 miles away so my input should be taken lightly. It did haul his boat back from CT no problem.

I had a galvanized steel Venture a long time ago under a '21 boat. It was pretty decent for what I used it for. I don't think their niche is big boat trailers.

I have an aluminum Venture under my 29' Fountain (three axle). Zero problems in 7 years of service.

We have a galvanized Venture on our Crownline bow rider. Been a great trailer, tow and loads real nice. Only two issues I have had is someone stepped on the frame near the master cylinder and broke the brake line end fitting. It sticks out unprotected. Needed a new front line but I replaced them all. It was a pain, they are routed inside the frame. (Flexible hard plastic)
The other is the Tie Down Engineering hitch..... DO NOT forget to put pin in that goes under the ball. Don't ask me how I know this.
