School me on American force semi wheels

Just traded the 250 for a F350 dually. What's the low down on a set of 22's? I know they look awesome but how is the ride?

Fuel also makes a set of 20" rims. Might look small though.

I went with Fuel 20" rims,

Sydwayz 05-26-2014 08:59 PM

This has been discussed many, many times on here before. Do a search on 22 and 22.5 wheels.

You want direct bolt on, no adapters.

Any more pics? How do you like the ride? Quality of the wheels? Thx

CLA 05-27-2014 02:30 PM

I went with the direct bolt on 20's from Fuel. Seemed like the best compromise.

Sydways can you put me on ignore. Thanks.

I can do that, but seriously, I wonder how many replies you will get on a thread where you demand someone step up and type you a diatribe?

In about 2.7 seconds on a search for "22 wheels" this thread comes up with a WEALTH of info:
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/t...-bad-ride.html

There are a dozen more like that.
And then there are all the diesel truck sites with CRAPLOADS of info.

I think you will find that I am one of the most helpful members here.
You may not like my approach based on the last two threads we have both posted on; but that's not my issue.

Also, check this link out:

I did the same search and read those threads. There was a lot of people posting that did not have american force wheels or even a dually. I just wanted some real feedback. Just like guys posting in the cat threads that have 18 foot bowriders. What the hell do they know??? I didn't demand anyone post a diatribe. I don't even know what that is! lol

I know one thing though.........you know everything about everything. Your net worth must be massive! Are you going to be at the Outlaw Challenge in H town? I've got to meet you.

No one is a know it all, but the smart ones know where and how to find answers.

Thanks for the PM. I've been called worse by better.
Ignore: ACTIVATED.
Cheers! :drink:

I have American Force Wheels on my truck. Love the ride AFTER I had them trued on the truck. I have about 65k on the tires and they are starting to show some wear in the rear.

CLA 05-30-2014 11:41 AM

Great looking truck Rotti.

steven0720 06-04-2014 11:53 PM

what size and brand of tires did you guys went with ? 37s or 35s?

CLA 06-05-2014 09:13 AM

I went with 295/55/R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Ordered the wheels with the wider offset in the rear so no spacer is needed.

It's about 33".

steven0720 06-05-2014 10:19 AM

Sweet , I just bought a F350 Dually , still wondering what kind of rims and tires I am going with . Thanks for the information CLA

sounds good. Post some pics when you put them on.
Maybe i will get some rims and tires ideas from the Texas outlaw as well.

tnc110 06-07-2014 06:43 PM

Direct bolt on with a simulated larger bolt pattern. ... now that would be the ticket! Direct bolt on looks terrible imo.

ICDEDPPL 06-09-2014 08:07 AM

22`s? They look Ghetto, rides like $hit, throws your speedo way off, essentially increases your rear end ratio, pay thru the nose for tires. On the plus side you`d be a big hit with the brothers hanging out on the corners downtown Chicago or any large city but then again it probably increases your theft risk but 50%

You pretty much nailed it. I actually like the looks but when I put them on, the truck lost towing power because it basically changed the gearing. Which you can change to compensate, but if you have a 4x4 now you're changing two sets of gears, breaking and stopping power went way down, you can change that by changing the brakes, and the list goes on and on. The wheels are much heavier than stock and will wear out wheel and suspension components prematurely. You'll be dumping a ton of cash into the truck to fix the negatives of having the looks of the wheels. Not worth it, and they make the truck ride like crap. If you've ever experienced the Ford death wobble, it amplifies that. If you want to run a set of wheels that size, buy the truck they were made for....

CLA 06-09-2014 03:24 PM

Glad I went with the direct bolt on 20's.

Funny thing is.........if you go to a big poker run all the ballers have 22's, 24's, 24.5's on their F650's/duallys/whatever.

CLA 06-18-2014 12:03 PM

Change of plans. The 20's looked like crap. Got AF 22's on the way.

24's on 36x12.50 nitto. Rides awesome. Found a guy that makes a billet adapter for the balance machine.

Oh yea, Sydawyz....Blow me! lol

Sydwayz 02-05-2015 02:13 PM

School me on the billet adapter for the balance machine.

Center has the hub of a regular wheel and adapter has 5 studs for the semi. Put the wheel on the adapter and put 5 lugs on. High speed balance. Install wheel. I'm really surprised an expert such as yourself didn't already know that.

Truck looks great.

315duramax 02-06-2015 09:18 AM

I know a lot of transport companies with 3500's on alcoas and AF because you can buy 16 ply tires and get 100k out of a set rather than 30k 10 ply radials. Then again in the ride factor.. It's a dually, it's not going to ride like a caddy to begin with lol my dually lifted on 35's looks stupid IMO but I couldn't afford 7g for AF and tires... Even with 17" and radials I still cring at pot holes or stress cracks in the roads and mine is one of the softest smoothest riding rigs I've ever been in... It's all relative. To the OP, looks sweet!

Sydwayz 02-06-2015 10:24 AM

I had to adjust my ignore list when I got PM on this topic.

If someone feeling not fresh lately? Someone gets a little *****y when one gets sand in one's vagina. I gave up on a microwave, and keep spare tampons and several douche kits in that spot. I'm happy to hand one out; as I stock a bunch of them just for this issue.

CLA 02-06-2015 10:29 AM

I didn't pm you Brian. I don't think your the only one that's givin up on microwaves. Been to a poker run lately? How many AT's at it? Maybe you should work on your business instead of talking trash on the web.

I don't think I saw 1 AT at destin this year.

Sydwayz 02-06-2015 10:35 AM

My business is doing great. I had my best year this year; and I work very hard at it. Thanks for your advice.
