I put aftermarket exhaust on my 15 for the same reason of the burn risk and also looks. I'm not going to to do it on my 16 since I have towed with the rock tamers and not had any issues. Will see what happens this summer.

+10 for the safety features of these trucks. I got hit in the side by a drunk driver in an Ford Excursion last night. Side airbags and everything. I'm ok, just sore, but I'm confident that if i was driving a lesser truck I would be in bad shape! Thank You GM!!!!!
Had the f**kin thing for 28 days. Less than 1800 miles. Didn't even make one payment on it yet! |

So I am 12 hours away from pulling the trigger on a new truck (trade in my 2013), but I cannot decide which to go with:
1. Dually 2. Single rear wheel I am leaning towards the dually, but I know this will end my days of daily driving it, which might be OK in the long run. I ran my SRW everyday, great truck, but ran out of warranty and ended up having a good amount of warranty work covered on the truck. Someone push me over the edge here. Would love to have the dually to haul on some poker runs, and maybe buy a heavy trailer for work (gooseneck), in order to haul plates or product in an emergency.... truck I am looking at: [ATTACH=CONFIG]553225[/ATTACH] Other option is to keep my 2013. I loved my DRW's - hauling on corners or in wind, the stability goes to DRW (and I luv the bulldog stance)
Parking and everyday life SRW... For me, DRW also demands weight for traction on the duals or they can just spin - really notice it in the snow or ramps (4x4 definite - one benifit for big singles on 650 conversions)Get weight on them and the will pull without spinning better than a single. .extra cost for 6 tires vs. 4 when replacing and brake jobs generally cost more for DRW (negligable). A number of years back I would have said the ride quality went to DRW but the new suspensions are very good - they do not ride like a lumber wagon anymore as you are well aware of.. personally I like the duals - you always know where your corners are... that said you run out of road quick when some jack**s crowd's your lane with the fenders sticking out. |

Frick- Once you drive the new cabs 2015+ you wont want the 13...... DRW... man I don't know. Even the SRW are pretty dam good at haulin. I have ZERO sway with my Chris cat and the Duramax just wants to go......
