Trailer Box
Looking to add a storage box on my aluminum Myco. Anyone know what they use, want higher quality. Also, how do they mount them?
I have one, you know the number.
On my Manning, they just welded some aluminum square tubing to the bottom of the frame (perpendicular). Then they thru-bolted an aluminum diamond plate tool box to it, works out just fine.
Same on my Manning but it fills up with water when we launch.
Mine is out of the water at launch, I often use it as my "step" to get on the trailer when pulling out. You must have to bury your trailer to get on and off.
I bolted some box tube aluminum to the bottom of my C-channels. The tool boxes are on either side of the winch stand, and are TOO LOW. You need to have them up high, the box opening needs to be at least 6" above the tops of the aluminum C-channel on your trailer.
bblythe has a nice setup on his Myco (with OverActive on it) with a tall box mounted high. If I was going to do it over again, I'd do it that way. |

Maybe I don't have that issue because I have a tandam axle trailer. My box has never been in the water.
Too low: https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...f37473a38ae21f They need to be about 6" higher minimum so I would never have a problem. |

bought these at harbor freight, notched them to fit over the rail, painted them, and put diamond plate on top so I can stand on them....
