Agreed. My 14 with 3.42/5.3 tows better than my old 3/4 ton Suburban with 400/4.10s did, and weighs as much, if not more. Worlds of improvement over my 93 1500 Suburban with the 5.7 (and almost double the hp when running E85). Words cannot explain how much better this truck tows compared to my GMT900 standard cab 4.8, but that's largely a matter of extra wheelbase, too.

When this one is paid off it's going to the wife and I'll be looking for a used '15 with 6.2/Max Tow. The 16's grille/front end doesn't do it for me.

With as much as the 5.3 rocks I would love to have a 14/15 6.2 Tow Max on e85!!!! That thing would be a rocket for sure

I have been very happy with the 6.2 8 speed 3:23 it is a huge improvement over the 08 5.3 3:73 I had.

I agree 100%. I was extremely nervous about getting rid of my 99 2500 for a half ton, but I'm very pleased with how well the 2015 does

That's good to hear that y'all are happy with your Sierra's. I'm hoping they can get mine right. It's now back at the shop for the third time for this highway vibration. Road force balance the first time, 3 new tires the 2nd time, and now all new shocks at the 4 corners. We'll see what happens.

Mine is a 5.3, but has the max tow (3.73 rear) and 6-speed transmission. I came out of a EcoBoost F150 with the 3.73 rear, and they're close in performance. I think the Ford is still a little quicker, but the Sierra isn't far behind if any. I'm towing around 9000 lbs. I would have definitely been disappointed with the 3.42 setup.

Will add that the 2015 8 speed with the 6.2 I have still needs some refinement its pretty clunky during light acceleration the motor is a beast for its size and lots of torque for a gasser. I have heard of the vibration issue on this platform particularly the escalades with 22s. My buddies did it the first time the tires for rotated at the dealer.
