Both sets totally flawed? Could you buy both sets, and make one set of 4 that works? Then sell the bad ones?

At least one set looks like every wheel has some salt damage. The other set looks like they at least all have some light scratches. I want show quality wheels that will never see road salt.

A lot of the wheels I've looked at have those. I also would prefer to not have a center cap. Thanks for the suggestion though. They won't go on until spring so I have 3 months to find what I want. Case in point: the factory provided chrome Corvette wheels of that same era only came with one dip in the chrome. They all peel, even ones that are taken care of. My Dad was advised to get the brushed wheels, and have them later chrome dipped; which is exactly what we had done for him as a gift, by a guy who specializes in wheels. He blasted, cleaned, sanded, and chrome dipped them and they turned out fantastic; and still show as knew 10 years later. |

Call a local chrome/refinishing shop. Factory chrome jobs are known to suck.

Even expensive wheels will have thin chrome? I figured if Roush put their name on a wheel then it would be good quality. They weren't cheap either. I did find these from American Racing but the cheap price scares me. About $250 each. The Roush wheels were $441 each.

Geez. . . . . .A dedicated F-150 forum with 200-800 members on-line at any given time and over night I get one reply that says American Racing is a good quality wheel. I get more good info on this little boating forum! This site is the best! :) If I can't find a new set of the Roush wheels then I will probably go with the AR ones that I pictured above. What do you guys think between the AR ones pictured above or this one from Discount Tire that may be hard to keep clean and shiny? http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/x...psebff963c.jpg |
[QUOTE=thirdchildhood;4232671]This is the only contender that I see on discount tire and I am leaning toward a simpler wheel design. These are even cheaper which makes me wonder how thick the chrome is? Now to see if I got any feedback from f-150 forums...

Fixx, those are good looking wheels but I decided on the American Racing wheels from Summit. I ordered them today because Michigan is trying to rush through a bill that will require mail order sales to collect sales tax.
