Looking for an answer on tow rating....
Just kidding.
New truck. Not apologizing for the dirt, no boat hooked up yet. Sydwayz, please respond to this thread, I'm worried you may have jumped off a bridge after seeing the title. http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/...psfac94e4f.jpg |
Nice!
My 2015 GMC Sierra has been on order now for 2.5 months! Can't wait until it arrives!! |
I went with a '14 off the lot for the savings. Test drove the F-150 SCab and liked it, but the combination of 4 standard opening doors and 6'5" bed edged it out.
I wanted, in order of importance: "1" for first digit of VIN V8 with decent hp/tq Minimum 3.42 numerical gear Locking differential Extended cab 4WD I wasn't sold on the red, but my late father used to drive red trucks when I was growing up, and the salesman swore red trucks have an automatic 10% increase in towing, so I took it. |
I would have gone with one off the lot also but couldn't find one with all the millions of options I wanted! :)
|
I'm coming out of a GMT900 truck that had manual windows and rubber floor. OnStar, 8" screen, power seat, and remote start are HUGE options to me! LOL
.... And I only miss the rubber floor (already). And 2 years free maintenance? Whaaaaat?! I hope it's only a small up charge is for Mobil 1 and Wix filters. Any idea on what spray-in liner is included on the '15? Line-X, Rhino, proprietary? |
Nice truck !
I like the red. They only make 3 colors of vehicles IMO, red, white, and ugly. :D |
Nice truck. What motor is in it?

Lots of 4.3L and 5.3/3.08 trucks left on the lot, and either option puts towing in the 7k ballpark. The 5.3/3.42 is 9600lbs. |
That was the main reason I had to order was the gear ratio. I went with the 5.3/3.73 which gets me 11,700lbs
I didn't go with the spray in bed liner. It was a $500 option (only standard on Denali) I went with the ugly color (Black) :) |
Tell me you got the black 20's, then tell me you wished they were polished as soon as you take delivery... LMAO.
I'm already debating paint/powder/replacement on the rims. They unloaded a red '15 Rally Edition as I was driving off the lot, and it looked goooooood. |
You screwed up. Motor Trend just named the Colorado the 2015 Truck of the Year...because it looked good and got good fuel mileage. :picard1: New thread - "Can my new Colorado tow my 38 Top Gun?" :daz:

No, no, I bought a '14, it was North American Auto Show Truck of the Year...now I have to find an 85 Bayliner Capri to tow around, because they were Boat of the Year, and I like the classics. |

It's a good thing you got the 4x4. I wouldn't want to see you stuck on the ramp:

Too many spark plugs and too few wheels to tow that, sir!
We're still cool, right? I mean, I started a tow capacity thread and bought a SRW gasser, I'm a little concerned you're northbound with a truckload of edged weapons and munitions. |

Yeah, the 20s look good, I just need to paint mine
....and get a tonneau ....and get the flat black rally stripes ....and get some weathertech/huskyliner mats ....and get some seat covers ....and get a bedliner .....or I could just go see a shrink at $100/hr.... Probably would be cheaper. |
You will like the truck. I picked up thisup a few months ago. It doesn't pull as good as my 2012 with the 6.2 but I still like the truck.
