Good source for Nerf bars?

Hi All,

Finally picked up a dually, (GMC) and need some nerf bars. Looking for wheel to wheel ones so I can actually reach something in the bed of the truck. Being short sucks sometimes. :)

Anyone have any recommendations on a good source? Brands to look for? Brands to avoid?

Not looking for anything too fancy, 3 inch is fine, but I would prefer stainless/polished with a kick out for the dual wheel well.

Thanks!
Bob

Try NASTA, stainless and a good price.

Check out the Go Rhino Dominator 3 steps.

I bought them for my dually from our very own OSO member Buck183. At the time, they were unavailable across a good 20 places that I called, but he found a set for me and had them shipped all the way from AR to VA. I like them as they have a 3rd step at the front of the bed, just for what you are asking. They are rock solid, no squish or flex when you step on them. The mounting brackets are very stout. They mount the bottom of the cab pinch seam, and further up under the cab toward the frame.

Westin used to make a "kick out" side step that flared out to match the width of the dually fenders, but they stopped making them. That was originally my first choice, but i am very happy with the Go Rhino bars.

I had them sprayed with bedliner, and then painted durable flat black to match my truck (including the bumpers).

He's done several favors for me, and we've never even met in person.

Looks like these "kick out" nerf bars are now available for duallies since Westin abandoned that space:

These are on dads 08 Duramax, they are awesome IMO. They are wider than the normal 3" round ones which gives you a nice FLAT area to stand on and less risk of sliding your foot off.

Thanks Guys!

I have pinged Buck to see what sort of price he might have.

i would not go with nerf bars..the running boards come in more handy when trying to wash roof to trying to get somthing out of the bed..nerf bars are slippery if you dont put your foot on the slip pad..just my o2..

They sure help when your Wife cuts the circle drive at the lake to close to the Tree!!

In my experience, at 6'2" with a good wingspan to match; I can't reach the entire roof from the nerf bars or running boards. (Truck had factory boards when I bought it.) I have to open the door and stand on the sill, or whip out the aluminum (3) step-ladder that I keep in the bed; to reach the entire roof on my dually.
Ford cabs are a bit wider than GM, so your mileage may vary.

^^^^^^ This. I never use running boards, nerf bars, or door sills to reach tthe roof. Werner 3-step aluminum ladder.
