Ford fuel pump

So I need to replace the pump in my 2000 super duty, the book says to drop the tank, but I've heard it's easier to raise the bed for access. Any one done either, and recommendations.
6.8 gas btw.

Haven't done a Ford but on a Chevy we pulled the bed.

Mine Just went out yesterday in my 09 Tahoe LTZ w 80K Fukrs- Warranty went out at 75K go figure. 1K at dealer

I'm leaning towards the bed route as gravity sounds better than fighting the tank back into place.

Delphi is the OE manufacturer. You should be able to pick one (Delphi) up for $300 and change.....if DYI.
If 5.3L w/ Flex Fuel the Napa Part# is FG1054
Product Line: Delphi Fuel Pumps

Drop the tank. I really can't understand taking out 6 bolts when 2 hold the tank in. I did one for my buddy on the side of the road last December. Was done in under 90 minutes. On the ground with hand tools.

Depending on how much fuel is left in there it might be wise to drain it first. Use a floor jack and a piece of plywood to support it.

if you have access to a lift then pulling the bed would be easier if the bolts come loose..i have the straps on the tank,,you have to run a tap over the threads first to clean the threaded part to get the nut off the strap or the strap breaks..
