Affixing Oversize Banners and Flags to New GMC Pickup
New truck (GMC 2500HD Denali) should be here soon.
I want to be able to affix the required banners and flags to the truck without permament harm. Anyone know of or use any pre-made, removable, flag holders for the front bumper? And how do you all attach the banner on the front? Thanks |
really good suction cup?

Throw in some duct tape and it is a sure winner! |
Is the front bumper steel or aluminum? I'd go with some flat magnetic signs made by a local sign/graphics shop. Any of them should be able to handle it. Same for the tailgate.

Ok I`ll bite.. who 'requires' banners and flags on your truck??
|
Wide Load Banners
|
I see said the blind man.
|
Make sure they say "Overside Load" and not "Wide Load"

So far my method has been to blissfully hook up the boat to the truck (which I've been borrowing from my sis-in-law) and tow the damn boat to the ramp and back (11 miles each way) with neither flags nor banners. I'm 'only' 10' 2" so it's not hugely overwide, but still... So with the new truck on order, I figure maybe there is an easy way to do it right and that won't mar the finish on the truck. Or maybe not! |
If you install a front receiver hitch on your truck (good for many useful things by the way) than you could make up a banner and flag holders on a rail that slips into the hitch and never actually touches your new truck.

True enough Chart, and thanks. I use a ball on the front bucket of my tractor to move all manner of stuff and it is handy as heck.

glboatdriver, just noticed you have a 330, and apparently a trailer for it. We have a 330 also, but no trailer. Been thinking of reworking the bunks on an extra trailer we have to allow pulling the 330 out of the water.
Could you send photos of your trailer when the boat's off it? I'm interested in how the bunks are spaced especially. Thanks. |
No problem, but sadly it won't be until June. We boat in northern MI and we gotta thaw out first, as you in IN and MO know all-to-well also!
And I won't be offended if you send me a reminder in June, either! |
