Just ordered a 2015 Duramax
 

And while I was at the dealership, the F&I guy told me that GM is cutting back the warranty on the 16 models to 60K miles instead of 100K. Just thought someone might want to know in case they were waiting on the 16's to come available.

I will also be selling my 13 model if anyone is interested. White, loaded, LTZ, black leather and sunroof. Just turned over 70K miles and has been flawless.[ATTACH=CONFIG]541754[/ATTACH]

I'm glad I got a 2015 and have the 100k warranty. Sure, the engine and trans will run forever, but it's all the electronic doo-dads that will go bad and are expensive.

I bought a 12 with 31k miles on it a few months ago, had it one week and had to take it in for emissions crap!! Fixed that with a delete and truck has been flawless. If you get rid of the problem you wont need the warranty.

You will love the 2015. Mine is great.

My youngest brother bought a 2015 Denali Dually. I drove it for three days while we were in Iowa. Awesome truck. You will love it.

You will love it. I love mine. I read an article about the warranty. They said they are lowering it because other major competitors are at 60k and the 100k wasn't really a major deciding factor in most purchasers minds

I heard the same on the shorter warranty from my GM tech bud a few weeks back. He stated same as above, everyone else is only 60,000 now. The only issue he has seen with the LML is some CP4 pump explosions on early years. GM has never admitted a problem, but Bosch changed the pump part # and called it a "revision" for older ones that suffered a "failure".

I joked about this being the reason for the shorter warranty term, cause when the pump grenades it's about a 10k fix which calls for ALL fuel system parts to be replaced. The aftermarket guys at Fleece have even made a CP4 to CP3 conversion kit to resolve the issue. The old CP3 is a rock solid pump, while the LML has the rock solid bottom end capable of holding well over 600hp all day long. They have really got their poop in a pile, and I'm a die hard Ford guy.

Here is what Fleece website says about the pumps.

The stock CP4 is only capable of supporting up to ~500rwhp. A stock CP3 is capable of supporting 600+ rwhp in conjuction with the piezoelectric injectors. The reliable and proven PowerFlo 750 is capable of supporting nearly 850+ rwhp.The CP4 was introduced as a cost reduction to the LML platform since a smaller amount of fuel is required when running the more efficient piezoelectric injectors. Since its introduction it has proven to be less reliable and less capable than the CP3 used in previous duramax platforms.

GM is scaling back the warranty and the 2 yr free maintenance program (essentially 4 oil changes and 4 tire rotations)...... The 100K powertrain warranty is really for people who use their cars/trucks as 20K a year average is a high for the average person.

The 100K scale back to 60K is across the whole line from Corvettes to Yukons.....
