Anyone a Mercedes tech?
 

My in laws have a 2010 Mercedes ML (type 164) and we need some specific tech information, on repairing the left front A pillar, apparently this is readily available from Mercedes dealer except ours doesn't want to play the game, unless we buy the parts from them at exorbitant prices.

What do you need to know? I was the next guy down from the foreman for several years, still have some friends at the dealers

If it has air bag best let a mercedes shop handle. There are some that dont charge as much.

non of the airbags went off as the car was parked at the time, some idiot side swiped it and took off, and my in laws were overseas at the time, and hadn't realised there registration had lapsed so they too at the time had no insurance cover, it's turned into a cluster fu$k. We have located the correct second hand parts for it but our body shop guy needs the Mercedes work procedure for removing and replacing the a pillar door frame area.
