What would you like to know about the truck?

Why on earth would you get rid of a real truck and buy a Toyota? They are also lacking any attractiveness...actually ugly. JMO

The old Tundra was ugly, the new one takes it to new levels of ugly! :D My buddy has the old style with the big V8 in the jumbo cab, short box. He loves it and it has 100K on it now but he isn't really hauling anything big, just a daily driver. |
I've test driven a few of them, and they are actually fantastic vehicles. I could not believe how much I actually liked them. The ONLY thing I don't like about them is the 4WD selector switch is too close to the HVAC controls, and you could turn it inadvertently when going for something else.
I'd own one in a heartbeat IF they made on that fit into my towing requirements. But they don't. :( As such I own a Ford SuperDuty and a Chevy HD. |
If you live in a salt area, that tundra will rust the frame worse than most. Sadly, I don't think Toyota has yet gotten a grasp on the metalurgy necessary to get a frame to live in these areas. A close friend has an 08 Tundra, I will be surprised if that frame is not perforated in the next 2 years.

Checkout http://www.tundratalk.net/, that should help you decide on which model. It will also show you the strengths and weakness in the Tundra. Mine does exceptionally well for towing the 27' FASTech. Keep in mind, it is only a 1/2 ton truck. Mine has 111,000, only major item replaced was a water pump. Otherwise normal tires, oil, and brakes!!!

Talk to people about the gas mileage. The 5.7 V8 has power but is much more thirsty for fuel than most other V8's. I do not have any seat time....

I got rid of my Ford 6.0 to get a Tundra and it tows my 28 Pantera with twins fine.
