If you're not hand calculating this is all moot.
|
I literally will stand there past when the pump "stops" and add another 5-6 gallons until it's actually full until the top of the neck, diesel foams bad, so unless you hand calculate and fill until you can literally see the fuel at the top of the neck on every measured tank it is not accurate..

I've posted this several times, but comparing mileage between different trucks is a totally futile and useless effort. There are literally dozens of variables that can drastically vary each and every truck.
And yes, there are several posts on TheDieselStop.com about foaming diesel when filling on PSD trucks. I had my vent cut shorter at one point, which cuts me down to about 3 gallons of slow pumping vs. 6. TDS is THE best forum for PSD questions, hands down. |
Fuel Mileage is calculated by hand not the on board computer although it very closely matches what I get with the calculator.

But with the bigger tires how do you know what the real mileage is?
Drive down the freeway and use the mileage markers for 10-20 miles and see how close you are. You could then use that as a "correction curve" for a whole tank of gas. |

I have a 03 f250 ccsb. 7.3 with 280k miles. It's bone stock. I get about 15-16 bombing around town. I can get 19 empty on the highway. I recently did a fun run 3 hours away, all interstate. Towing my formula 242 I got 15mpg.

[QUOTE=cdail28590;4366000]My 01 with only a programmer on it and 35" tires gets 15
and with a new IDM :party-smiley-048: |
2002 F 350 7.3 with 37's and 6inch lift pulls like a beast 460,000 miles original power.
2014 F 350 6.7 with 37's and 6inch lift pulls like a beast 80,000 miles Wrong website to worry about fuel burning fuel in my opinion. lol |
